Obituary

Willie Marie Kahlich died peacefully Aug 20, 2021 in Cuero, Texas at the age of 100. She was born September 26, 1920, in Dewitt County to William Fred and Hettie Till Kahlich. She attended school in Lindenau and Cuero. After receiving her registered nursing degree, she proudly served her country for five years in the Army Nurse Corp and achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. She returned home to Cuero and continued a life of service. She worked for Drs. High and Davis at the Cuero Medical Clinic and retired after 55 years of nursing. In her lifetime, she was a loving caregiver to many family and friends.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and Westhoff American Legion.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lula Amsler, Victor James Kahlich, and Raymond Kahlich. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Leala Kahlich and Florence Kahlich Green; nephews, Douglas Kahlich, William Kahlich, and Randy Kahlich; nieces, Sharon Moore, Kathy Zuckerman, Annette Pruski, and Monica Amsler; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 9:30 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church followed by a 10:00 am funeral Mass. Burial to follow at Lindenau Cemetery. Family requests masks be worn indoors.
